Take out the intro scenes that dragged, what you have left is a remake that doesn't exactly deliver the original but doesn't quite disappoint!

The lot who spared no cost to catch the cinema opening of The Lion King will agree that one of the most striking features of the anticipated Disney Classic is its lifelike picture. Albeit all computer-generated, it felt like watching a Nat Geo Wild documentary on talking Lions.

The Lion King is no Live-Action! Watch…

In between cathartic reactions, I believe I shared similar sentiments with Timon, Pumbaa and that adorable Antelope at the sight of Simba and Nala. Meaning? Lions that look so real are not exactly cute. In the end, the “Circle of Life” theory is highly obtainable.

Let’s get serious! The Lion King was beautifully put together, making it by far more impressive than other Disney Classics that have towed in the line of a Live-Action remake – Aladdin, Dumbo, Beauty and the Beast.

This remake didn’t seem willing to make crucial changes to the 1994 classic. The story of Simba, a powerful tale of finding self while facing challenges remains intact accompanied by most of the songs fans probably know by heart, guaranteeing that sweet feeling of nostalgia. Spicing our eardrums with originals by the Queen B ensured the movie established a little identity of its own.

Humor plays a sizeable role in The Lion King and this remake made sure that we shared some laughs. Although some dialogues that were intended to arouse humor sometimes felt forced, Timon and Pumbaa made sure to make up for it with their effortlessly hilarious dialogue.

Ultimately, this remake sought to sell us the endless possibilities of technology. It did and that was impressive.
