Don’t be fooled by its mouth-watering cast, Kondo Games is not a movie you’d want to spend a farthing on!
Kondo Games is directed by Charles Uwagbai (directed The Ghost and The Tout)and stars Jide Kosoko, Mercy Johnson, Uche Jombo, Funnybone, Francis Odega, Mercy Aigbe (appears once and flips her breast anti-clockwise for the duration of her stay) and Cossy Orjiakor.
There is absolutely nothing right about this movie. Absolutely NOTHING! From its weak lines to its nonexistent story line, viewers have on their hands nearly two hours of wondering if the filmmakers even bothered with a script or decided on-the-go what new tactic to add just to amuse their gullible viewers.
Story? There is no story but here is a close attempt to retell anything…
Kondo Games attempts to tell the confusing tale of two pin-headed yet crime bursting police officers, Vincent (Funnybone) and Austin (Francis Odega).
The plot of this film will try to convince you of many things. If you believe any, you might as well check yourself into a mental home. Yes! How can a story be so lost? For a minute, Vincent and Austin will try to convince you that they are the grown version of Aki and Pawpaw with their half-baked hilarious acts of mischief.
Don’t hold on too long to that thought as you are about to see less of Aki and Paw and more of the crime busting yet naive gentlemen that remind you so much of Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker.
Kondo Games play out Nigerian comedy industry’s oldest and retired jokes.
Least this skips this review, Austin and Vincent are married to Mercy Johnson and Uche Jombo’s characters. Their characters are jobless wives who feed off gossip. Their sole target is the large breasted character played by Cossy Orjiakor.
Is Kondo Games a movie targeted at pointing out the ills of the Nigerian Police Force? Is it a comedy about women losing their husbands to big breasted women or is it a story of “how to never sleep with your Oga’s love interest”? Perhaps, it is a tale of robbers terrorizing an estate till they are caught by two witless officers. You see, Kondo Games is a confusing piece of…
Costuming was another disgrace. In 2018, a movie production team cannot afford to get a prosthetic baby bump? Really???
Such a shame!
