Crazy People is a refreshing breath of fresh air after these past months of suffocating and unsophisticated jargon released as movies. This is no waste of Naira. It’d be sacrilegious to think it is!
If you have seen Crazy People, you’d agree that it is a very detailed movie. A lot of attention was paid to the story (well developed with a clear-cut plot). The picture quality was sparkling which confirms the fact that this movie is no low budget production.
If you choose to ignore the minor sound tech issues, and the troubling flashback transition, Crazy People is a near perfect NOLLYWOOD film.
If you haven’t, RELAX as this is not a spoiler!
Directed, produced and written by Moses Inwang, Crazy People and its star-studded cast experiments with dual role casting. Don’t lose faith, the major character of Crazy People is not a twin whose rogue twin goes about wrecking havoc. In this sizzling story, Inwang throws in an unprecedented psychological twist that’s guaranteed to drags its audience on a roller coaster ride.
Ramsey Nouah returns to Nollywood in search of an impostor who seems to be getting away with making appearances at movie sets, photo shoots, clubs and party hangouts whilst feigning to be the real Ramsey.
With the help of his new manager Lucinda Opara, a fellow inmate at the Rosewood Medical Centre where he was admitted for a year, the two steal away from confinement and set out to catch the fake Ramsey.
As the film progresses, the true state of mind of our principal character becomes questionable (It’s either his or yours). Everyone Ramsey encounters seems to believe the fake Ramsey is the real Ramsey and so would you till the very last scene.
Lucy (Chigurl) is the most unassuming character of Crazy People, a fact you will find out also in the last scene. The entire story is hinged on Lucy’s ridiculous mind game.
Crazy People is a thriller but not the kind with a pace that’d leave your head spinning. It is deliberate in its attempt to keep its audience clueless till the script screams Wake Up!
